Guest Artist - Max Ciarlet |

|
Introduction by Max Ciarlet: Max has been taking photographs, on and off, since he was
15 years old when his father gave him a camera, and Olympus OM-10, as a
birthday present. Today, Max still enjoys the art of photography with the
very same camera his father gave him 25 years ago. Max firmly believes that
in photography, the art of seeing should involve all the senses, and that
each photograph should be able to transport oneself to a different epoch in
time or create a feeling or perception of being, or wanting to belong in the
realm of the photograph, by triggering a memory or by simply evoking a
newfound interest or love. The longing, the wishing, the waiting… As Max
always says: “Loosing oneself in the immensity of a brand new world, whether
real or not, full of possibilities, considerations, and expectations by
‘stealing’ a look at a photograph, makes me feel alive, makes me feel like a
child”, and maybe he is right; maybe that is the way a photograph should
captivate us. |
